DANIEL GERMAIN
Daniel Germain’s journey to becoming a champion of hope for underprivileged children is truly inspiring.
Growing up Daniel witnessed the challenges faced by many children in accessing nutritious meals, crucial for their academic and social well-being. Determined to break the cycle of poverty, he founded the Quebec Breakfast Club, which later evolved into the Breakfast Club of Canada and now the next big idea: World Children’s Day and its campaign, Children’s Hour.
Thanks to Daniel’s vision and tireless efforts, Breakfast Club of Canada feeds over 750,000 children nutritious meals daily across the country, earning recognition in 2005 from the United Nations as one of the world’s best school meal programs.
By uniting individuals, businesses, governments, and communities to invest just one hour of their income annually, Daniel envisions a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
CHILDREN’S HOUR CAMPAIGN
Driven by his passion for making a difference in the lives of children, Daniel now leads the voice for World Children’s Day and its campaign Children’s Hour.
World Children’s Day - amplifying all children’s voices, celebrating their dreams, and raising awareness about the challenges faced by at-risk children worldwide.
World Children’s Day is not just a date on the calendar—it’s a call to action to honor, protect, and empower all children and the next generation.
Through collective effort and commitment, World Children’s Day and its campaign can ensure that children everywhere have the resources and support they need to succeed.
Daniel Germain’s leadership and dedication remind us that we can create a brighter, more equitable future for all children and future generations, regardless of their circumstances.

Daniel has received numerous awards for his work, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Quebec YMCA Peace Medal for his commitment to youth. He is a Member of the Order of Canada, sits on the prestigious Order of Canada Selection Committee, and is a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec.
